An ethos of Sibley Pares has always been that our staff should be knowledgeable and trained, in order to offer the best service to our clients. Sibley Pares actively supports our staff and provide all the tools they need to enable them to achieve qualifications in their specific field and so we are delighted to announce that Mitchell Bourner has become qualified as Member of the National Association of Estate Agents.

Partner Sarah Raggett states,  “Professionalism is at the heart of this firm, and we all congratulate Mitchell Bourner on his qualification affirming his status as a property professional”.

We are already ahead of the game when it comes to regulation of the industry, with many members of staff having or working towards professional qualifications. This is made increasingly important with the proposed Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA) bill which has been discussed at length and campaigned for by many of the regulatory bodies in the property industry here in the UK. If successful, a new regulatory framework to cover estate agents in the UK and letting and managing agents in England will be implemented. Meaning all in the industry must have some form of qualification as, surprisingly, currently in England there is no requirement by law for Estate Agents to be licenced or qualified.

As Chartered Surveyors we are regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and have chosen to be regulated by Propertymark, so we are required to ensure staff adhere to high professional standards.  This is nothing new for our firm but will extend to all staff engaging in estate agency to be qualified and, although not yet compulsory, we are supporting our staff to attain the necessary qualifications irrespective whether this proposal does in fact become law.

So well done to Mitchell, and we look forward to congratulating more of the team in the near future!
